Nick Cavarra, Producer

has over 25 years of experience in the entertainment industry as a true hyphenate. As a producer, Mr. Cavarra has produced multiple award winning off-Broadway shows including the musical FANNY HILL at the award winning York Theater (2 Drama Desk Nominations and a Drama League Award); and RICHARD CORY written by A.R. Gurney and Ed Dixon (Talkin’ Broadway Citation for Best Musical and voted one of the top 3 musicals in the New York Music Theater Festival).  As an actor, Mr. Cavarra starred in the Disney film Lauren’s Story and the independent feature A Hard Sale.  On television he appeared with Hal Linden on Jack’s Place, and some of daytime’s top dramas including:  One Life to Live, As the World Turns, Santa Barbara and The Guiding Light.  He starred on Broadway in Grease!, The Scarlet Pimpernel and King David. As an author, he has written five feature screenplays.

Dennis Grimaldi, Producer

Broadway: the Pulitzer and multi-“Tony” Award winning Angels in America by Tony Kushner, Sally Marr...and her Escorts starring Joan Rivers (“Tony” Nomination), The Rise and Fall of Little Voice, winner of London's Evening Standard Award, Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Frank Gilroy's Any Given Day starring Sada Thompson, the “Tony”Award nominated The High Rollers starring Vivien Reed, Tom Stoppard's Artist Descending a Staircase.

 

Off-Broadway: Burning Blue (London's Olivier Award winner) starring Chad Lowe, Grace & Glorie starring Estelle Parsons and Lucie Arnaz, The revival of The Boys in the Band and Party. In addition; the 1994 Outer Critics Circle Award-winning Annie Warbucks and the 1989 Outer Critics Circle Award-winner Other People's Money and its national tour starring Tony LoBianco. Mr. Grimaldi was associate to the producers of A. R. Gurney's Sweet Sue, starring Mary Tyler Moore and Lynn Redgrave; and has been associated with producer Emanuel Azenberg on Neil Simon's London Suite and his Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning play, Lost in Yonkers. Further,  the Off-Broadway productions of David Mamet's The Cryptogram and Lypsinka! A Day in the Life.

 

In The West End, in London, Mr. Grimaldi Co-Produced The Boys In The Band and John Lahr’s The Diary of a Somebody about the Legendary Joe Orton.  Dennis also has had a successful career as a director and/or choreographer both On and Off-Broadway, for television, the West End and leading regional theaters throughout the country which he put “on hold” to concentrate on Producing theatre full time. Upon graduating, on scholarship, from the Goodman School/ De Paul University in Chicago, Mr. Grimaldi began his career working for such Theater legends as Michael Bennett, Jack Cole, Gower Champion and Jose Ferrer. He was Director of Development and Special Events for Candid Productions, Inc., a television production company, 15 years and is the recipient of the 1994 Robert Whitehead Award for Outstanding Commercial Theatre Producing. Mr. Grimaldi has also served on the board of The Acting Company founded by John Houseman.

Maria Di Dia, General Manager

Since 1970 she’s combined a robust passion for the creative process and over 30 years of upper-level theater management experience to the industry. She founded her own company Maria Productions, Inc., in 1978, servicing the entertainment community and has specific expertise in Broadway and off-Broadway enterprises.  Some of these include: Associate General Manager for the Broadway production of Chicago; Executive Producer for Blue Man Group; General Manager of the David Ives’s Mere Mortals and All in the Timing, Charles Busch’s You Should Be So Lucky,  Zanna, Don’t!,  The Donkey Show and The Karaoke Show currently running at Club El Flamingo. Her 2004 projects included her as a Producer and the General Manager of Here Lies Jenny starring Bebe Neuwirth at The Zipper Theater and the General Manager for Address Unknown at the Promenade Theater in the spring, and in the fall she was a Producer with The Drama Dept. of The Downtown Plays, the centerpiece of the first annual Tribeca Theater Festival.  Ms. Di Dia is very proud to have been the Managing Director of BROADWAY CARES/EQUITY FIGHTS AIDS and is a Vice President of its board of directors. She also has produced the annual event, Nothing Like A Dame, for the Phyllis Newman Women’s Health Initiative of the Actor’s Fund of America.  For 20 years she has been the Executive Producer for Jacques d’Amboise’ National Dance Institute Event of the Year.

Gary Maffei - Gary is a graduate of the Commercial Theatre Institute and a member of the Drama League and Players Club. Has been a producer, writer and principal in numerous PSAs and short films.

A leader in the non-profit world for 30 years, he holds a Masters degree and is currently Executive Director of an agency that serves people with autism. He has been an author and editor for government publications, a Mayoral appointee to two city-wide councils, a College instructor, a delegate to a Judicial Nominating Convention, a member of a NYC Community Board, President of several area political clubs and a member of several non-profit Boards of Directors.

Charlie Maffei is a singer who has performed in both cabarets and stadiums in the New York metropolitan area and Atlanta. A tenor with a sound similar to Elton John, he is equally comfortable in a small intimate setting as he is singing the national anthem before thousands at a sporting event.

Charlie has recently been cast as "Burke Valentyne", a recurring role in Zip Code, a TV series (pilot in production, visit Morgold Productions.com).

As a representative for an airline, Charlie developed a love of travel. While in Europe he acquired an appreciation for fine art and worked in a gallery for a year; he now owns several important pieces. Charlie has also been a Trader in a NY brokerage firm.

DavelleLLC, Associate Producer

Jacki Barlia Florin and her company DavelleLLC is currently involved in The Wedding Singer (Hirschfield); Eve Ensler's The Good Body (national tour) and Chita Rivera-The Dancer's Life. Her most recent credits include: Associate Producer The 50th Anniversary Drama Desk Awards, and Associate Producer NEWSical the Musical (studio 54). She is a graduate of (14 week) CTI. She is currently working on a new Kander & Ebb Musical All About Us. In her career she has worked in all aspects of communications including Advertising, Marketing and television. She has tremendous commitment to the theater community and serves on the Board of Director's of the Flea Theater. She has two wonderful children with her husband Joel.
